They had been tracking the killer then for days, and had gotten close, but the down pouring rain had stopped their pursuit. He had seen lightning striking a cottonwood just outside setting it ablaze.The flash blinded him, and It took a while before he could see again. When he did regain his vision the outlaw he had been hunting had crawled in. He now lay, wet, and limb just inside the caves entrance.
