Shema is a testimony of how Charla Apana passionately sought after the Holy Spirit at a young age into adulthood with her husband Joseph. Through raising a family and serving in ministry they have adapted a family mantra to seek intimacy with the presence of God, no matter what life has thrown at them, even if they were lemons!

Days leading up to July 4, 2019, Joseph was not acting like himself. Charla began to notice his lack of appetite and slow memory loss which concerned her deeply. Her gut instincts -The Holy Spirit, told her to rush him to the hospital. While walking toward the emergency doors, Joseph began to have a stroke. Doctors found a cancerous tumor the size of a lemon in his head. Which led to emergency surgery. It was devastating news to their six children, as they trusted God to see them through. Charla wrote this book to tell of the incredible journey of her children who assembled to hear from God. They did not fight cancer; they rose above it. They sat in the heavenlies to hear God's voice to bring them safely out of it.
