Dark Echo A fire has destroyed the old telephone exchange but most of the strange yellow eyed shadows have escaped. In this second episode the four friends Jake, Lloydee, Matt and his sister Kylie have to found the subterranean chamber deep beneath the remains of the burnt out building hoping it may reveal the secrets of the Dark Echo. Their journey is dangerous along the tunnels and caves far underground. The yellow eyes feel safe underground from the Dull and Brack the Most Feared One, but still need their diet of hoonum's shadows to survive and so have to risk going to the Upworld to feed. Once a hoonum/human loses their shadow they will turn into a Redeye, the next step on the creatures' evolution ladder. As even more of their shadows are stolen for food, the people of Faffingly are starting to behave very oddly. How soon before all the people are turned into sinister Redeye shadows and what can be done to stop them? With their friends, Inspector Felix Crane, Rowena Spludge and the unlikely purple tongued Henry the Hoodie, it is up to them to end this terror before it's too late. If only they can discover who Brack really is. Under the guise of a human, the much feared shadowy creature could be anyone. Is it really Norbert String who owns the coffee shop and has suddenly started to act strangely, or Tiberius Smyth, the eccentric owner of the land on which the building stood: with all its bizarre history, or Mr Lyon, their form teacher, or could it be someone closer, a family member or --- As they escape from even stranger creatures swimming in an underground lake and struggle to return to the surface where an eerie, silent and empty Faffingly is all that is left, it seems it is up to Jake to save the town and its population.
