The Secret Sharer is a novella written by Joseph Conrad, first published in 1910. The story follows an unnamed captain who is newly appointed to a ship and struggles to assert his authority over his crew. The two men form a bond as they work together to keep Leggatt's presence on board a secret, and the captain gains a newfound confidence in his leadership abilities.
