Although we are of the same generation and from the same region of the planet (Zimbabwe, her; South Africa, me), Francisca and I had such radically different experiences. Her mission seems to be to understand other people and to sow seeds of love and peace, even in the face of generations of injustice. While my path was so much easier, thanks to my white privilege, it takes my breath away to witness her capacity to love and forgive given her life shattering experiences.
