Sea Mew Abbey is a novel written by Florence Warden in 1891. The story is set in a remote location on the coast of England where an old abbey, once a place of worship, has been converted into a mansion. The main character of the story is a young woman named Muriel St. Clair, who inherits the abbey from her father. Muriel is a strong-willed and independent woman who is determined to restore the abbey to its former glory. As Muriel begins her restoration work, she discovers a hidden room in the abbey that contains a mysterious manuscript. The manuscript tells the story of a tragic love affair that took place many years ago between the previous owner of the abbey and a young woman named Elinor. Muriel becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind the story and begins to delve deeper into the history of the abbey and the people who lived there before her.As she uncovers more about the past, Muriel realizes that the secrets of the abbey are darker and more dangerous than she ever could have imagined. She finds herself caught up in a web of deceit and betrayal that threatens to destroy everything she has worked so hard to restore. With the help of a local doctor, Muriel must uncover the truth behind the mysterious manuscript and the dark history of Sea Mew Abbey before it's too late.Sea Mew Abbey is a thrilling and suspenseful novel that explores themes of love, loss, and the power of the past to shape the present. Florence Warden's vivid descriptions of the abbey and the surrounding landscape bring the story to life, while her complex characters and intricate plot keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
