At the corner of Elm and Main sits the Empty Lot. To humans, it's an eyesore filled with rusty metal and old tires. But to Barnaby the Raccoon and his crew of Scrappy Scavengers, it's the best home in the world.
Life is peaceful among the treasure-until a giant orange construction truck rolls up with a warning: Paving Starts Tomorrow!
Barnaby, Pip the Mouse, Whiskers the Cat, and Caws the Crow have only one night to save their sanctuary. They can't fight the heavy machinery, so they decide to do something even bolder: show the humans that this dump is actually a treasure worth saving.
In this inspiring tale of community and conservation, young readers will discover:
- The Power of Teamwork: How working together can solve the biggest problems.
- Eco-Friendly Lessons: Practical concepts like recycling, composting, and upcycling trash into treasure.
- Civic Pride: Seeing the beauty and potential in our own neighborhoods.
Filled with charm and heart, The Scrappy Scavengers Save the Lot is the perfect read for Earth Day or any day. It teaches children that no effort is too small, and even the messiest situations can be turned into something beautiful with a little creativity.
Join the Scrappy Scavengers and help turn a mess into a masterpiece! Also in
