Many of the businesses featured in the illustrations were places she visited as a child, creating a nostalgic tribute to the people and places that shape a community.

Scammel Street, after all, was named for Revolutionary War General Alexander Scammell-one of several historic figures honored in Marietta's street names. Also, mentions some Rufus Putnam and George Washington.
