Scout Learns to Sit is a gentle, child-friendly training story that teaches young readers how to help a dog learn with kindness, calm voices, and patience. Written by a professional dog trainer and K9 handler, this book turns a real obedience lesson into an easy, joyful narrative children can follow and copy with their own pets at home.
Scout is a happy dog with a lot of wiggles - and just like many children, he learns best when someone teaches him slowly and gently. Through simple step-by-step language and cheerful illustrations, children see exactly how to hold a treat, how to guide a dog into a sit, and how to praise a dog the right way when they succeed.
Designed for families with puppies, classroom reading time, therapy dog programs, and early readers who love animals, Scout Learns to Sit encourages responsibility, empathy, and confident interaction between children and the dogs in their lives.
Created by a K9 professional. Inspired by a toddler. Loved by dogs.
A portion of the proceeds from this book supports the author's working-dog rescue mission in Georgia.
