Scottish Songs V2 is a book that was published in 1794 and written by Joseph Ritson. The book is a collection of traditional Scottish songs that were popular during the 18th century. The book is divided into two volumes, with the second volume containing 122 songs. The songs are arranged in alphabetical order by title and are accompanied by the sheet music for each song. The book includes a wide variety of Scottish songs, including ballads, love songs, drinking songs, and songs about Scottish history and culture. Many of the songs are written in Scots, the traditional Scottish dialect of English, and some include translations into standard English. In addition to the songs themselves, the book includes extensive notes and commentary by Ritson, providing historical and cultural context for each song. Ritson also includes biographical information about some of the songwriters and composers, as well as information about the sources of the songs. Overall, Scottish Songs V2 provides a valuable glimpse into the rich musical traditions of Scotland during the 18th century, and is a must-read for anyone interested in Scottish history and culture. In Two Volumes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
