He was taught composition while at the Royal Academy of Music by Arthur Sullivan and Sir William Sterndale Bennett, and he was instructed in the piano by William Dorrell and Walter Macfarren. The Compositions include: Elves Op. 17, Five Cameos Op. 29, From My Sketch-Book (Book Two) Op. 26, Love Phases Op. 12, and Moods of a Moment Op. 11. Highly recommended for lovers and collectors of vintage piano music.
