On his way to work one day, Billy stumbles upon a crystal which turns out to be his call to adventure. This call sends him to another world in a new body in the hopes that he can save it. Conflicts of interest between the elusive Humes and the Fey, overflowing monster dungeons, and a missing history work in concert to confuse Billy as he struggles to understand the state of the world he now lives in. Constantly upgrading his new body, that of a mechanoid spider, Billy moves from one place to another searching for the right questions to ask the right people. The only problem is, he isn't sure if any of the people he meets are actually people. The one thing he is sure of, is that the world is deeply scarred, and it desperately needs him to help it heal, somehow.
