The Scarecrow of Oz is a classic children's novel written by L. Frank Baum, first published in 1915. It is the ninth book in the Oz series and follows the adventures of the Scarecrow, who is on a quest to save Princess Ozma from an evil witch named Mombi. The story begins with the Scarecrow discovering a new land called Jinxland, where he meets a young boy named Cap'n Bill and a talking hen named Billina. Together, they embark on a journey to rescue Princess Ozma, who has been kidnapped by Mombi and taken to her castle in the Land of the Winkies.Along the way, they encounter a variety of strange and magical creatures, including the Woozy, a creature with a long tail and a big appetite, and the Glass Cat, a cat made entirely of glass. They also face numerous challenges and obstacles, including a treacherous river, a deadly desert, and a wicked magician.Despite these challenges, the Scarecrow, Cap'n Bill, and Billina remain determined to save Princess Ozma and restore peace to the land of Oz. With its engaging characters, whimsical plot, and imaginative setting, The Scarecrow of Oz is a timeless classic that continues to captivate readers of all ages.Cap'n Bill and Trot rode very comfortably in the sunbonnet. The motion was quite steady, for they weighed so little that the Ork flew without effort. Yet they were both somewhat nervous about their future fate and could not help wishing they were safe on land and their natural size again. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
