Instead of simply stitching across the hole, you will learn how to identify the full damaged area, support it from inside with a carefully sized cotton patch, and reinforce the knee with a balanced grid of sashiko-inspired running stitches.

- Choose compatible patch fabric, thread, needles, and tools
- Measure and plan a repair that reaches stable denim
- Practise running stitch, spacing, starts, finishes, and tension
- Position and baste an internal patch without distorting the jeans
- Stitch through damaged areas while preserving surviving denim fibers
- Build an even horizontal-and-vertical reinforcement grid
- Avoid puckering, bulky intersections, loose loops, and patch movement
- Remove temporary basting and markings safely
- Test the repaired knee for flexibility, comfort, and laundering
- Recognize normal wear and replace a short broken stitch section later
