Sara loves puppies. She loves owls. But she's never met a rooster named Arthur - not yet.
When Sara and her mother finally arrive at the farm, one very loud, very proud rooster is about to become her newest, most unexpected friend.
He crows way too early. He struts like he owns the place. And somehow, Sara loves him anyway.
Sara and Arthur: New Friends is a heartwarming true story inspired by a real friendship between a girl with Down syndrome and a very friendly rooster. Told through gentle, text and warm farm illustrations, this picture book follows Sara's visit to the farm - from her first glimpse of Arthur, to a very loud 4:30am wake-up call, to a quiet moment of holding him at night, to the goodbye that comes with every visit.
A story about:
- Unlikely friendships- Loving someone (or something) even when they're a little imperfect (like a noisy rooster!)
- The joy of animals and farm life
- A girl with Down syndrome experiencing pure, uncomplicated love
Perfect for young readers who love animals, farm stories, or true-life friendship tales - and for families who want a gentle, inclusive story to share together.
