Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Antony grew up haunted by tragedy, a fire, a ghostly apparition, and a mysterious lullaby that seemed to herald trouble. Despite these shadows, Antony built a successful life and found true love. But as the 325th anniversary of the Salem Witch Trials loomed, his world unraveled. Witches and ghosts became disturbingly real, and Antony feared he was losing not only his sanity but everything he had worked for.
Review 5 stars
Julia Baeten in her debut fiction, The Salem Boy takes the reader through a series of suspicious and mysterious incidents that are never predictable. The story revolves around the boy Antony Hawthorne who lost his parents when he was 6. While he believes his biological parents were killed by a ghost his adopted parents assume the child needs the attention of a psychiatrist.
The author brings vivid characters throughout the story that are in two timeframes without confusing the readers' minds and without spoiling the flow. I was at the edge of the seat till the end of the story as Julia increases the curiosity of the reader in each chapter. The tension keeps the reader glued to the book and allow the reader to devour the surprising twists.
I invite all the readers to enjoy the story of Antony, who was influenced by ghosts and witches. Is it real or is it just imagination? Uncover the truth and enjoy the read!
