In the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, an unexpected poet emerges. Sparked by her nephew's encouragement and frustration with the pandemic, architect Gloria Jaroff embarks on a journey of self-discovery through the power of prose. Rhyming and Riffing My Way to 100 Years is a collection of photographs and fifty-one poems, each a unique story inspired by life's everyday moments and conversations. They fall into three distinct categories: rants, raves, and reflections. From expressing annoyance to showing gratitude and pondering life's mysteries and contradictions, Gloria navigates through her emotions, using poetry as her compass. In her nineties, the author uncovers her hidden talent, proving it's never too late to discover a new passion. Her rhymes, like her jazz piano improvisations, are emotional expressions that resonate with the rhythm of life. This book is not just a collection of poems; it's a testament to the therapeutic power of writing and the inspiration that can be found in the ordinary. Rhyming and Riffing My Way to 100 Years is a beacon of hope, a source of comfort, and an invitation to readers to embark on their own journey of self-discovery.
