About twelve hundred miles away, Thomas Goodson, a history professor at Hillsdale College in Michigan starts an average day, teaching his class on 18th century North American History. He gets interrupted during his class by an unfamiliar man who presents him with a strange letter written in his own handwriting, but it is dated from 1783. Initially believing it is a hoax, he carefully inspects the letter and authenticates it. The letter instructs him to take his on and off again girlfriend, Kristen Riddle, and travel to Cheyenne Mountain to get answers.
In the events that follow, Thomas and Kristen become aware of a plot to assassins sent back in time to kill many of the Founding Fathers and they end up with no other choice but to literally race against time and travel back to 1773 to stop the assassination attempts before they can take place, without any certainty if they will ever make it back home.
