Emigrants left Earth two millennia ago to escape the genocidal horror of the Mutant Wars. The conflict had its origins in unrestrained human genetic engineering. What started out as alterations to repair genetic defects morphed into enhancements. Once these enhanced individuals were no longer seen as human, the wars began.
After generations of travel the emigrants found themselves stranded around a less than desirable planet. Pacifica was a harsh world but one they thought could be terraformed to satisfy their needs. The colonists were dedicated to pacifist ideals. They were staunchly committed to providing freedom and security for all forms of humanity. Unfortunately, they brought the consequences of playing God with them.
They never imagined they would lose their technology. They didn't plan on fighting a never-ending war. They didn't believe the immoral society they escaped would ever find them. Sometimes things just don't go your way.
Tee is a young man who desires simplicity. He is caught up in momentous events that threaten everyone he loves and everything he believes in. Will his people survive? If they do is freedom for Pacifica just another lost cause in humanities long history of lost causes?
