Compiled eleven years after Sabrina's first rape, Rapeseed collects poems written in the immediate aftermath of her two rapes (once by a man, once by a woman; once on her birthday in her own home), and in the years that follow, as she slowly works to heal herself and her wounds with both therapy and witchcraft. These poems are at times violent and rageful, at times sad; other times limned with hope and optimism. These poems are about magic and sex, vulnerability and betrayal. These poems reveal the process of recovery, and the possibilities and multiplicities of emotion therein.
This is Sabrina Scott's third book, and her first widely published volume of poetry.
