When she asked him about their plans for the evening, he simply said that he had something special planned and not to worry about it. Maria tried not to think too much about it, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
Finally, the evening arrived, and John arrived to pick her up. He seemed nervous as he led her to his car, but he refused to say anything about their plans. As they drove, Maria began to grow more and more anxious. She had no idea what John had in store for her.
Finally, they arrived at a secluded spot in the countryside. John led her to a picnic blanket that he had set up, complete with candles and a basket of food. Maria was surprised and touched by the effort he had put into their evening.
As they sat down to eat, John explained that he had been distant because he was planning a surprise proposal. He had been working for weeks to create the perfect evening, and he was nervous that something would go wrong.
Maria was overwhelmed with emotion. She had no idea that John was planning to propose, and she was overjoyed at the idea of spending the rest of her life with him. She said yes, and they spent the rest of the evening wrapped up in each other's arms, basking in the glow of their love.
