Although the 9 linked stories of Raining Stethoscopes feature a doctor-narrator and a cast of eccentric patients, the main character is the quirky small town that all these people call home. A rowdy giant, a hermit, runners, gardeners, dreamers, and a heat-emitting truck driver are just a few of the peculiar residents of this extraordinary community. The dynamism of human relationships - parent & child, husband & wife, priest & sinner, doctor & patient - is highlighted. In these tales, twists abound. It's hard to know the truth. Intuition is treacherous. Miracles are in short supply. Hope saves the day.
