Rabotnitsa-mat (Worker-Mother) by Aleksandra Kollontai, originally published in 1911, offers a compelling glimpse into the social and political landscape of pre-revolutionary Russia. Kollontai, a prominent Marxist revolutionary and feminist, explores the intersection of labor, motherhood, and political activism through a distinctly socialist lens. Her work provides valuable insights into the challenges faced by working-class women in early 20th-century Russia and their role in the burgeoning revolutionary movement.
This work is significant for its historical context and for Kollontai's pioneering contribution to socialist feminist thought. It continues to resonate with readers interested in the history of socialism, the Russian Revolution, and the ongoing struggle for women's liberation.
