The Rose and the Ring, or The History of Prince Giglio and Prince Bulbo: A Fireside Pantomime for Great and Small Children is a classic children's book written by Michael Angelo Titmarsh in 1855. The story revolves around two royal families, the Rosalbas and the Bulbos, who are at war with each other. The Rosalbas have a beautiful daughter named Princess Angelica, while the Bulbos have a less attractive son named Prince Bulbo. The fairy Blackstick decides to interfere and gives a magical ring to Prince Giglio, the younger son of the Rosalba family, which makes him the rightful heir to the throne. However, the ring is stolen by Prince Bulbo, who ends up losing it to Angelica. The story is full of humor, adventure, and wit, and is a delightful read for both children and adults. The book is written in a pantomime style, making it perfect for reading aloud and acting out. The Rose and the Ring has been a beloved classic for generations and remains a must-read for anyone who loves fairy tales and whimsical stories. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
