In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on. Robert Frost was right. Life is something we are given, and what we do with it, whether we choose honesty, or love, or the courage to care without shame, is the only real choice we get. I have come to believe that poetry is how we say the unsayable without having to stand fully exposed in the saying. It lets us be human in front of strangers. This book is my humanity, written down. It started, as these things often do, with someone telling me to put my thinking on paper to make sense of it, and somewhere in that sense-making, between overthinking and unraveling, I found some things worth sharing. So here they are: a braid undone for approval, a chair built to fit no one, a name split into who I was taught to be and who I actually am. Poems about memory, identity, and belonging, and the words we carry whether we want to or not. I didn't write them to be understood. I wrote them hoping someone, somewhere, might read them and feel a little less alone. If that's you, welcome. It goes on. So can you.
