Diplomatic practice has diversified considerably, keeping pace with developments in international affairs. In this dynamic and volatile environment, the diplomatic apparatus remains, more than ever, a key tool at the state's disposal for defining and implementing clearly defined foreign policy objectives. For Madagascar, the guiding principle championed by the current Head of Diplomacy is diplomacy in the service of development. It is therefore important for each country to assert itself, according to its means, in sectors deemed promising for its national economy. It goes without saying that tourism remains a key sector of the economy. Aware of this challenge, the various countries of the Indian Ocean have joined together in an organization called Iles Vanille, which aims to create new products and attract more visitors to the Indian Ocean. Although it remains a prominent tourist destination, its performance remains modest both globally and regionally. It is therefore up to our country to take advantage of this organization through our diplomatic representation abroad.
