In Indigenous cultures across the globe, animals are often seen as embodiments of natural forces or spirits that inhabit the world around us. The animal spirits of Native American cultures, for instance, are believed to guide individuals through life's challenges, providing wisdom and protection. In these traditions, certain animals, such as the eagle, wolf, and bear, are considered to possess particular qualities or strengths that are mirrored in human experiences. The lion, for instance, is a ubiquitous symbol of power across various ancient cultures. In Ancient Greece, the lion was associated with the gods of war and strength, such as Heracles, whose lion-skin cloak became an emblem of his immense power. Similarly, in the Biblical tradition, the lion represents the strength of the divine and is often used as a metaphor for the power of God. The phrase The Lion of Judah is an example of this association, signifying the kingly strength of the biblical figure of King David.
