Robert Tournay is a historical novel written by William Sage. The story is set in the 16th century and follows the life of Robert Tournay, a young man who is forced to flee his home in England after being accused of a crime he did not commit. Robert travels to France and becomes embroiled in the political and religious turmoil of the time, as the country is torn apart by the Protestant Reformation.Robert is taken in by a group of Huguenots, French Protestants, and becomes involved in their struggle for religious freedom. He also falls in love with a beautiful young woman named Marie, who is also a Huguenot. However, their love is threatened by the fact that Robert is still wanted by the English authorities. As Robert becomes more involved in the Huguenot cause, he is drawn into a dangerous plot to overthrow the French king, Francis II. The plot ultimately fails, and Robert is forced to flee once again, this time to England. He is eventually able to clear his name and return to France, where he is reunited with Marie.Robert Tournay is a thrilling and action-packed historical novel that explores the themes of love, loyalty, and political intrigue.
