The first three decades of the 21st Century has seen it's fair share of innovative advances but also multitudes of disasters, wars and before we even got a quarter of the way through, a world-wide pandemic. Climate change is catastrophic, poverty climbs daily with the job losses and deaths from preventable diseases, and none of these issues looks to be abating in the future, with the positive changes in the world continually being outweighed by manmade chaos, greed and pollution.
Technological, medical and social advances are unable to prevent the genocides and guns going off all over the planet. I read the news and blanche, then I write.
Therefore, I have gathered some of my poetry musings from the past five years and collated them into volume 1, with a Volume 2 followoing at the end of the 2020's. Hopefully, by then world events will have improved and not worsened any more.
I've called this collection, The Roaring 20's as there is a constant roar from all directions in the world right now.
I hope my words soothe, bring hope and make you laugh, and cry, just a little bit.
