The Road to en-Dor is a gripping first-hand account of one of the most ingenious escapes of World War I. Captured during the siege of Kut-el-Amara, Lieutenant E.H. Jones and his fellow officer C.W. Hill find themselves held in a prisoner-of-war camp in Yozgad, Turkey. The narrative follows their meticulous process of deceiving both their fellow prisoners and, more importantly, their Ottoman captors. By convincing the camp commandant that they possess supernatural powers and knowledge of hidden treasure, the two officers embark on a high-stakes game of mental chess. What began as a diversion evolves into a daring, life-threatening scheme to secure their freedom by being certified as insane and repatriated.
