During the first year of the Covid-era, Ottawa poet rob mclennan and Denver poet Julie Carr began a collaboration of sorts, composing poems as a call-and-response, to help prompt each other into poems, and out of the dark uncertainty of daily news. They wrote poems in conversation, each beginning to work as a new poem from the other arrived. As he thought through the process, rob mclennan kept notes as journal entries on the poems, and the process. These are those notes.
