Riddles by Alisher Navoiy is the first ever English translation of the ten chistons (riddles) written in Chagatai Türki by the great fifteenth century Timurid poet. Each riddle describes an everyday object (giving an example of one here would spoil the fun later). Until now, the secrets of Navoiy's chistons have been closely guarded by a society of specialist scholars. This short book makes them available for everyone to explore and enjoy. They are by the English poet Andrew Staniland and Madina Ilxomova Oybek qizi, a student at Uzbekistan State University Of World Languages.
