The President: --It will give me great pleasure to notify the gentleman of your acceptance and thanks., The first business before the Society is reading of the journal of the last meeting. The Secretary: --The report has been printed and distributed. Captain E. B. Hamilton: --Mr. President, I move that the minutes as published by the Secretary be declared the minutes of our last meeting, and that the reading of the same be dispensed with. The President: --If there is no objection, that will be taken as the sense of the Society. No objection being heard, it was so ordered. The President: --The first business in order is the appointment of committees on business and for the nomination of officers. I will postpone that for a few moments and take up the matter of receiving reports. The Corresponding Secretary presented his report, as follows: CORRESPONDING SECRETARY'S REPORT. Council Bluffs, Iowa, October S, I894. Mr. President, and Members of the Society of the Army of the Tennessee: Gentlemen: --As Corresponding Secretarv of your Society. I have the honor to report the continued performance of the usual official duties of this position. It is also my painful duty to report the deaths of the following named members of the Society: Captain E. L. Baker, General T. W. Bennett, Lieutenant J. Everts, Dr. E. Guelich, General J. M.
