Report of the Battle Flag Committee: Appointed by the Twenty-Fourth General Assembly to Provide Cases and Transfer the Iowa Battle Flags (1896) is a historical document written by Jonathan R. Prime. The book recounts the efforts of the Battle Flag Committee, which was established by the Iowa state government in 1894 to collect, preserve, and display the battle flags carried by Iowa soldiers during the Civil War. The committee was tasked with providing suitable cases for the flags and transferring them to the State Historical Society of Iowa for safekeeping. The book provides a detailed account of the committee's work, including the challenges they faced, the decisions they made, and the outcomes of their efforts. It also includes photographs of the battle flags and the cases in which they were stored. Report of the Battle Flag Committee is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Iowa history, the Civil War, or the preservation of historical artifacts. From The Arsenal To The State Capitol. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
