The illustrations are the author's own - drawn in pen and ink with watercolour wash. Three years ago, following a spinal cord injury that left him with impaired manual dexterity, Taḋg Paul couldn't draw more than a stick figure. He learned to illustrate through the art programme at Spinal Injuries Ireland, to whom this book owes a considerable debt.
