Reminiscences of a Circuit Rider is a memoir written by George T. Ashley, an American Methodist minister who served as a circuit rider in the mid-19th century. In this book, Ashley shares his personal experiences and reflections on his life as a preacher, traveling from town to town on horseback to bring the Gospel to people in rural areas. He describes the challenges he faced, such as harsh weather conditions, dangerous roads, and hostile crowds, as well as the joys and rewards of his work, including the spiritual growth and conversion of his congregants. The book also provides a glimpse into the social and cultural context of the time, including the impact of the Civil War, the rise of industrialization, and the changing religious landscape. Overall, Reminiscences of a Circuit Rider offers a fascinating and inspiring account of one man's dedication to his faith and his mission to serve others. This is a new release of the original 1941 edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
