Many couples struggle in their relationships with each other. Couples, whether dating or married are settling for less than God's best. They are choosing to do life together in a way that does not bring them total fulfillment. There are several reasons why fulfillment is not achieved, but perhaps the primary reason is a lack of understanding of how relationships should work as well as how unspoken expectations that each person naturally brings to the relationship undermines the relationship.
The Scripture provides a plan for our lives as well as our relationships. The plan that God has for all couples is to reflect His Image. In order for us to be able to look like God, we must be willing to look at what God intended for us as couples to have. We also must understand why we naturally have the propensity to treat each other in ways that are damaging and harmful.
There is an invisible enemy (Satan) that constantly tries to keep us thinking that we are okay in our relationship with God and with each other. Can we honestly say that we are where we need to be in our relationship with God and with each other? Maybe! Maybe not!
In this book, you will find out from the book of Genesis how God created us in His Image and how we are able to live out His image every day in our lives in a practical way. We will examine what God says about such subjects as forgiveness, anger, submission, sex, pressure, emotional attachment, love, etc.
He created us to be a reflection of His image and His image reveals itself in many ways. Every couple can be a reflection, even when their relationship or marriage is in shambles. You will find in the pages of this book answers as well as the steps necessary to grow as a couple through Christ. As couples, we can reflect the presence of Jesus and truly inspire others. How can this reflection happen? Only if we allow the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to transform our relationship to become a powerful witness for Christ. When we give God room to work in our lives on a continual basis, we become a reflection of His Image.
