On the other hand, the prolongation of life expectancy in canines and felines has caused a higher incidence of degenerative conditions due to age, such as osteoarthritis, among others. Fortunately, the advance in the sophistication of the available complementary diagnostic methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging, has gradually allowed a greater certainty in the diagnoses and therapeutics used. All this has generated the need for new therapeutic alternatives complementary to traditional treatments, and thus physiotherapy is gradually becoming an important integral part of the treatment.
