Donna O'Daniel has led an amazing life. She left a successful administrative career, went back to school at forty, became a wildlife biologist, and vowed to spend as much of the rest of her life outdoors as possible. Her travels have led her to forty-nine countries on all seven continents, including many islands and island groups.
Donna has studied birds in the remote Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic and the wild Aleutian Islands in the North Pacific, and beyond.
Her passion to educate others to the threats our wild friends face-including birds and sea turtles-has led her to classrooms of eager students in the Northern Marianas and the Big Island of Hawai'i, where she taught youngsters about the biology and conservation of endangered sea turtles.
One of her eager students wrote,
Dear Ms. O'Daniel, thank you for all the things you taught us about the turtles. I hope you could come back to our school. I like what you teach us. If I grow up, I want to be just like you.
