When Aaron Bellamy inherits seventy-three acres and an aging farmhouse in rural Georgia, he believes the property might finally give his family a fresh start.
Then, on their first night in Bellamy House, Aaron hears a little girl calling from beneath the ground.
The voice is coming from an old stone well behind the barn-a well sealed beneath a heavy metal cover, wrapped in chains, and marked with a warning:
DO NOT BREAK THE SEAL.
The girl says her name is Lucy.
She knows Aaron's name.
She knows his children.
And she wants to be let out.
At first, Aaron searches for a rational explanation. But when his young son begins hearing the same voice, strange objects appear inside the house, and a dead grandfather's journals reveal decades of warnings about the well, Aaron realizes his family has inherited far more than land.
For generations, the Bellamys have guarded something beneath the property.
Something that listens.
Something that learns.
Something capable of using the voices and faces of the people its victims love most.
As the presence beneath the well grows stronger, reality around the farmhouse begins to twist. Roads disappear. Familiar voices call from the woods. Children are drawn toward the darkness. And long-buried secrets about missing members of the Bellamy family begin clawing their way back into the light.
Aaron soon discovers that the little girl calling herself Lucy may not be the frightened child she claims to be-and his grandfather may have spent his entire life protecting the family from something far older and more dangerous.
Now the seal is weakening.
Aaron's son has been marked.
And whatever has been waiting beneath Bellamy Farm is ready to come out.
Set against the haunted backroads, abandoned fields, old family secrets, and dark folklore of rural Georgia, THE RED WELL is a Southern supernatural horror novel about inherited evil, family loyalty, grief, and the terrifying consequences of opening something that was never meant to be disturbed.
Some wells hold water.
Some hold memories.
And some should never be opened.
