All that you have went through has led to this. Sorry, I couldn't be there to see you soar, but trust me I'll be there when you reach the top. For all the red in the wind there is a moment of when the breeze feels just right, so while you have the chance to still feel it- stop take a breath and enjoy. Because where you're headed is up and there is no breeze when you reach the top. So, never forget the people you've met who've changed you for the better and help mold you, never forget the RED in the WIND! We all are aware of slavery where blacks were tormented by white slave owners, but some parts of history can be changed. This play Red In The Wind gives us a view of a black slaves being owned by a man of color, and the turmoil his son goes through to be accepted and find love in a world his father has created. One part of the problem is that he isn't fully black, he's a mixed young man- so he is seen as not being pure-bred, so he is the but of all of jokes and none of the slaves trust him because the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. As he tries his best to live his life the way he wants, he is reminded of the empire his father has created, and he has to decide whether to jeopardize the empire or be his own man. With his ruthless father at his ankles who is willing to kill and destroy for his legacy, and his love for an African girl in his heart; he has to learn that maybe the red in the wind is to make him stronger, wiser, and ultimately a better man.
