Reconquista is a novel written by Federico Gamboa in 1908. The book tells the story of a wealthy Mexican woman named Andrea who is forced to marry a man she does not love. Andrea's husband, Gerardo, is a wealthy businessman who is obsessed with his social status and reputation. Despite her unhappiness, Andrea tries to make the best of her situation and becomes involved in various social events and charitable causes. However, she soon realizes that her husband is unfaithful and that her marriage is a sham. Andrea begins to question the values and expectations of her society and embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, she meets a revolutionary named Carlos who challenges her to fight for her own freedom and for the rights of the poor and oppressed. The novel explores themes of love, marriage, social class, and political activism. It is considered a classic of Mexican literature and a significant work of the Mexican Revolution. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
