What is the general profession of our day? A system of philosophy drawn from the Bible, but so contrived that every doctrine and statement in that holy word which is opposed to the carnal mind, and calls up the enmity of the natural man, is carefully hidden, neutralized by-a lie, or explained away according to one of the rules laid down by the most popular of our modern commentators: Nor should he (a minister) embrace any opinion whatever which will in form, or in fact, cramp him or restrain him in thus offering salvation to all mankind. The fact that Christ died for all, and that-all may be saved, -should be a fixed and standing point in all systems of theology, and should be allowed to shape every-other opinion, and to shed its influence over every other view of truth.
