There are people who speak only when spoken to.
And then there are people like me-people who talk like their life depends on it, because once upon a time, it did.
For years, my voice lived underground, hiding behind fear, discipline, and the unspoken rules that raised me. I learned early that children who asked questions were fresh, children with emotions were dramatic, and children who spoke too loud were punished for daring to exist fully.
So I folded myself into silence.
I swallowed truth like food.
I carried stories like bruises under long sleeves.
But silence never healed me-it only kept me small.
When I finally grew into a woman with her own mind, my voice burst out of me like flames. I spoke fast. I spoke long. I spoke everything I never had permission to feel. People told me I talked too much. They said it with annoyance, with jokes, with rolled eyes and tight smiles.
What they didn't know was that my talking too much was my survival story in motion.
Every word I speak now is a piece of the quiet child I'm rescuing.
Every story is a freedom I fought for.
Every conversation is proof that I'm no longer afraid to exist out loud.
This book is not a justification.
It is not an apology.
It is the truth.
A truth about finding my voice after years of being taught to bury it.
A truth about unlearning shame and rebuilding self-worth.
A truth about choosing to speak even when no one understands why I need to.
