The Opet Festival, a unique celebration of Ra in the ancient city of Thebes, sets the stage for this gripping tale. The high holiday, marked by joy and music, ushers in a new high priest and reaffirms the Pharaoh's power. However, the evening takes a tragic turn when a terrible circumstance strikes the daughter of a wealthy merchant. In a twist of fate, Rashida, a novice physician, is thrust into a life-or-death situation, tasked with saving the life of the one person who torments her the most: her sister.

Rashida: A Widow's Oil Novella is a historical drama and love story set during the height of the Egyptian empire. A Nubian living in a foreign land, Rashida learned the healing arts while growing up with a rich family of silk merchants. She is friends with an Israelite whose family would come to town for personal reasons and witness the splendor of the Opet Festival. This novella takes readers through Rashida's life, from restoring citizens to healing a military hero, enjoying the celebration, and, by chance, meeting a stranger whose kindness and strength ignite a passionate romance. This love story will keep you engaged till the end. The unfortunate threat against her sister raises questions about why she was the target and who tried to do her harm. Rashida, the stranger, and several others find themselves in a race against time, their every step fraught with danger, to find the antidote, even if that means traversing lands full of bandits and thieves.
