Rapunzel is one of the best-known fairy tales about a young princess trapped in a tower and longing for freedom. When a prince discovers her hidden away, the story becomes a tale of danger, hope and escape. This story highlights courage and patience, while also reminding children that difficult situations can change. Adapting the tale to be set in a cyber cacotopia (or cyber dystopia) with a hyper-technological, oppressive future where advanced networks, AI, and digital integration worsen the human condition seemed to be a fun activity. It represents a high-tech, low-life reality-where tech monopolies replace governments and personal privacy is nonexistent. This is a dark, speculative take on this classic story featuring another woman coming to her rescue. Featuring tropes like: The Techno-Tower: The tower isn't a magical castle, but a heavily fortified high-rise or a satellite hovering above a ruined metropolis. The witch is a totalitarian corporation or an authoritarian overseer, and the prince is a rogue scavenger trying to break in.
