I refuse to perpetuate the lies that have been accepted as truth, and this effing paper isn't the only history we have to set straight... because the spirits are meddlesome and nothing is as it seems when they get involved. Author's Note: The Salem Witch Trials are a legitimate historical event, and Bridget Bishop was one of the first to be accused and executed. Though the following pages are based on history both written and oral, this is where fact ends and storytelling begins. All persons, places, events, political statements, characterizations of historical figures, and other elements of this story, including the origin of witchcraft and the tribal ties to it, are either a figment of the author's imagination or a fictionalized account of something that none of us were present for to dispute. Please proceed with the understanding that this story was created, in part, as a reminder of the horrors of prejudice and that one who does not learn from history will indeed be doomed to repeat it.
