These two short stories involve a murder mystery of Jean-Marie Leclair, a violinist and a composer of the 18th century, who was stabbed to death in 1764, and the other story is about the Battle of the Violins in which Captain Kirk takes 6 of history's best violinists and brings them back to the future for a fiddle contest.
