A life changes forever after a copassenger points her accusing fingers at an innocent old man over a misunderstanding or a hallucination while travelling on an ordinary train journey, only to end up pulling him behind bars for twenty-one days and fighting the legal battle to get him out of the legal trap.
A soft-spoken and widely respected gentleman, the 69-year-old Balaji was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a law-abiding citizen who had built a life of honour.
He boarded a train from his hometown to attend a friend's son's marriage. He occupied the window seat. The middle seat, next to his, was occupied by a young girl, and the aisle seat remained vacant till he alighted the train.Then came the hallucinated imagination of that young female co-passenger.
Shocked and emotionally shattered, Balaji found himself accused of molestation-an act unthinkable against a woman younger than his own daughter. Though even the police sensed his innocence and urged restraint, systemic pressure forced the allegations forward. A simple misunderstanding was rapidly channelled through laws meant to protect women, transforming a normal journey into a catastrophic legal nightmare.
What followed was a three-week descent into prison life. In overcrowded, suffocating cells, privacy vanished and basic necessities became privileges. Yet, in the darkest chapter of his life, Balaji discovered the true meaning of inner strength.
