Rabbi Edward M. Gershfield didn't fit the cookie cutter mold of a typical rabbi or Jewish scholar.
Known to some as the Freedom Writer because of his decades of experience writing Jewish divorces, he taught Talmud and Jewish Law at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York City for over four decades.
